The “Astras” app is an educational app about a healthy lifestyle (wellness). It is not a medical app: not a medical service and not a medical device. It is not intended for the diagnosis, prevention, monitoring, treatment or alleviation of disease.
What the app does:
• Keeps and shows your lab results — the way they are printed on the report.
• Takes the reference range from your report — the one your laboratory stated. The app does not substitute a range of its own and does not recalculate your results against its own tables.
• The “in range / out of range” label is the result of comparing your value with the range printed on your own report. If the report carries no range, the marker is labeled “not evaluated” — which is not the same thing as “in range”.
• Explains what a given marker means and what such values USUALLY mean. This is a description of common knowledge, not a conclusion about you personally.
• Describes what such values usually indicate — informationally, as common knowledge, without naming the reason for your own result.
• Points out when a result is worth showing to a doctor.
What the app does NOT do:
• It does not make medical diagnoses and does not assert that you have a disease.
• It does not issue a medical conclusion about the state of your health: our explanations are suggestions, not a doctor’s conclusion.
• It does not prescribe or discontinue treatment, and does not select medications or dosages.
• It does not replace a doctor.
Separately:
• The “out of range” label means only that the value falls outside the range printed by your laboratory. It is not an assessment of your health.
• Explanations of markers are built taking into account the sex and age you stated in your profile: the app uses them to pick which of the ranges printed on the report to apply (ranges differ for men, women, pregnancy and different ages). The app does not check whose name the report was issued in. If the profile holds data that is not yours, or you uploaded another person’s report, the “in range” and “out of range” labels will be wrong.
• Lab results must be interpreted by a qualified medical professional.
• Report recognition is done automatically and may contain errors — check values against the original.
• The cycle calendar is not a means of contraception.
• In an emergency call emergency services — the app is not meant for emergency care.
